Humanity First

Our heart goes out to the victims of the Myanmar Cyclone and Chinese Earthquake. We are in solidarity with our friends in these two South Asian border countries during such a critical time of need and have partnered with Humanity First to provide an opportunity to reach out.

ISAFF Volunteers

ACLF NorthwestThank you ACLF

We are excited to announce that Tasveer has partnered with ACLF on a media project this year! Our sincere thanks to ACLF for accepting our project proposal for this year’s Community Leadership Program (CLP). This project, proposed by Neelu Bhuman, will be exploring mixed orientation relationships within South Asian communities, these are relationships whose members’ sexual orientations differ. Uma Rao has graciously accepted the role of lead community liaison, Anjulie Ganti will be assisting Uma and Rita Meher is providing filming/media and production expertise. ACLF’s CLP class will work closely with Uma, Anjulie and Rita for the next five months to create a media piece, which they will present and discuss at this year’s ISAFF. Stay tuned for more updates.

Call for ISAFF Sponsorship Coordinator

Tasveer needs your help to organize the most exciting South Asian event of the Northwest. We are seeking applicants for a key position in our ISAFF team.

ISAFF Sponsorship Coordinator

RESPONSIBILITIES: Securing and fulfilling corporate and in kind sponsorships

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Sponsorship Coordinator is responsible for solicitation and coordination of cash sponsorships, Ad space in the program guide and in-kind donations in the form of Hotel and Airline sponsorships.

COMPENSATION: Commission basis, 20% of sponsorship monies raised, a stipend could be discussed (DOE)

START DATE: Immediately
END DATE: October 15th, 2008

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Solicit and coordinate festival sponsorships from corporations, foundations, and government entities
  • Draft sponsorship contracts and coordinate payment schedules
  • Ensure proper acknowledgment of sponsors in festival promotional and outreach materials
  • Ensure proper acknowledgment of sponsors through thank you letters
